Well, well, well it looks like men are starting to get in on the Botox action! We all know The Real Housewives are into, but it seems that more and more non-famous
MEN are turning to the needle to help preserve their fountain of youth.
“Dubbed ‘Bro-tox’, this new age of male grooming is not limited to image-conscious metrosexual types- indeed 300,000 men in the U.S. had Botox injections last year alone.”
The shocker comes from the unlikely candidates who are going under the needle. Gay men and straight men alike are receiving Botox. ”Plastic surgeons agree that it is becoming more and more accepted for men to have fillers, and the trend is even helping them beat the recession.”

An organization that is near and dear to the hearts of The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa is Abandoned Pet Rescue, Inc. This non-profit organization’s sole mission is to take abandoned pets off the streets of South Florida, give them veterinary care and place them in permanent, loving homes.
As one of the few “no kill” shelters in Broward County, Abandoned Pet Rescue is partnering with gay Fort Lauderdale’s own Allied Kitchen & Bath to host “Rescue & Rejoice.” The event will take place on Tuesday, September 13 from 6-8 pm in an effort to raise funds for Abanadoned Pet Rescue.
The rescue organization is funded only by the donations it receives. All contributions ARE tax deductible and all of the proceeds will go toward the shelter. Suggested donations include gift certificates or other merchandise that has value in an auction environment.
For more information on the event, click here. Or, if your donation is something that needs to be picked up, please call Geri at 954-581-6423 or email at apr954@aol.com

Donald Sprigg, 62, who admits regularly stripping off to tend his garden, is facing three charges of outraging public decency.
His actions are said to have caused “harassment, alarm or distress” to residents close to his home in Cirencester, Gloucs.
But Sprigg says he only gardens in the nude when he knows his near neighbors are away.
He claims that complaints came from residents 150 yards away – who filmed him from their balcony using long-distance lens.
His solicitor Mohammed Iqbal told Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court: “He says he has acted lawfully at all times and taken reasonable care to ensure no one would see him and be offended by his actions.”
Sprigg pleaded not guilty to all three charges and was bailed to stand trial on June 20.

As if they weren’t amazing enough, let’s add some fundraising action into the mix. This coming Thursday join Juiceblendz at their
gay Wilton Manors location as they raise money for our local gay Fort Lauderdale Pride Center.
This Thursday, 20 percent of the proceeds that Juiceblendz makes will be donated to The Pride Center. Between 6 and 10 that night, the event will come to a head with something special going on (oh lala).
This really is a great event for a really amazing community establishment dedicated to spreading pride throughout gay Fort Lauderdale. So come on out and grab a smoothie, it’s for a good cause!
Okay, I cannot be the only one who walks into the Starbucks on 26th street in Wilton Manors and feels like
I walked in to my high school cafeteria…but, ya know, in a good way.
Seriously, we have the athletes in one corner, the intellects in another, the token artist drawing in a booth and the overly tanned girls waiting for their drinks at the counter. Typical.
But in all seriousness, this is probably my favorite place to be during the day. The staff is super nice and SO perky. You might walk in having an off day, but you’ll more than likely leave with a reason to smile.
You really can’t beat the entertainment factor either. In, like, the 20 minutes that I’ve been sitting here writing this blog I’ve overheard a discussion about feet, Grindr, and the ability to be rude without being rude (whatever that really means). And I love the guy in the corner of the bar pretending to read a powerpoint print-out. I say pretending because every time I look up his eyes are peeking over the paper at the super cute guy about 2 feet away from me. Again, typical.
Such is Starbucks in Wilton Manors.
This Starbucks is located near The Cabanas Guesthouse and Spa.

This is awesome! After over 150,000 people signed the petition at Change.org and intense media coverage
worldwide, Apple has pulled the iPhone application launched by Exodus International that claimed gay people could be “cured.”
This is an epic win for the gay community especially with the dangerous myth circulating that young gay people can be “turned straight.” It’s these falsehoods that are perpetuating depression and suicides among children and young adults.
Truth Wins Out, the organization that started the petition on Change.org, is thrilled.
Apple did the right thing because an incredible 151,125 Change.org members stood together to demand it.
