The first-ever clothing-optional run in South Florida was held this past Saturday at Sunsport Gardens Naturist Resort in Loxahatchee. Hosted by Aqua Sun, the event had a turn out of about 60 people.

Aqua Sun donated a portion of the proceeds from the 5K to Vita Nuda and Florida Young Naturists which are two Florida naturist groups. One 5K participant said it wasn’t so much about the nudity factor as much as it was about not having anything about yourself to hide and letting everyone see you for who you really are.

One of the event coordinators called in to WiLD 95.5′s WiLD Morning Show with Kevin, Virginia and Jason this morning and revealed plans for another nude run around Halloween time in the Tampa area.  The event will feature body painting, a “costume” contest, beer stands and more.

If you’re into the nudist thing, but not so much the running thing keep in mind the South Florida has its very own all male nudist resort located in the heart of gay Wilton Manors.  The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa offers a full list of amenities including a full service European style spa.

This is an amazing feat for this all male gay resort in little ole’ gay Fort Lauderdale.  We couldn’t be more excited for them!

An organization that is near and dear to the hearts of The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa is Abandoned Pet Rescue, Inc.  This non-profit organization’s sole mission is to take abandoned pets off the streets of South Florida, give them veterinary care and place them in permanent, loving homes.

As one of the few “no kill” shelters in Broward County, Abandoned Pet Rescue is partnering with gay Fort Lauderdale’s own Allied Kitchen & Bath to host “Rescue & Rejoice.”  The event will take place on Tuesday, September 13 from 6-8 pm in an effort to raise funds for Abanadoned Pet Rescue.

The rescue organization is funded only by the donations it receives.  All contributions ARE tax deductible and all of the proceeds will go toward the shelter.  Suggested donations include gift certificates or other merchandise that has value in an auction environment.

A woman, nude from the waste down, set up a wash station on the bench of a New York City subway car and proceeded to give herself a camping-style bath.

The woman lathered up while water and soap suds dripped to the subway floor…WHILE SOMEONE RECORDED HER!  That’s right, a straphanger (aka a person who rides on a subway while holding onto one of the straps to ground themselves), video taped the entire thing and uploaded it onto youTube in 3 parts.

The Sun Sentinel reported that 2/3 of those videos have been removed due to fact that the videos violated the policy on nudity and sexual content, although the last of the trilogy is mysteriously missing at this time.

The Cabanas Guesthouse & Spa might be clothing optional, but last time we checked the NYC subway was not!  She missed the memo.
